Fontestad Facilities in Museros

We have 50,000 m² of facilities which, without rigorous control over their energy consumption, would represent a significant source of pollution and unsustainable economic expenditure. For this reason, at Fontestad, we have various systems related to the architecture and design of our buildings to promote sustainable energy management.

Wastewater Treatment

WE PROMOTE THE USE
OF NATURAL ENERGY

All our warehouses are equipped with skylights to allow work with natural light for most of the day. This significantly reduces CO2 emissions, and combined with the lighting control system in the handling plant, energy consumption is minimal at all times.

Furthermore, our heat exchangers reduce energy consumption and increase equipment productivity. This system allows for a reduction in temperature inside the handling plant without requiring energy consumption, and it improves employees' working conditions.

Wastewater Treatment

Finally, we have a photovoltaic installation on the roof of the handling plant with a capacity of 3.6 MWp. These panels generate between 30% and 60% of the plant's energy consumption, depending on the time of year. The resolution for the installation was published by the city council on 04/28/2023.

With the aim of reducing external energy consumption and replacing it with 100% renewable energy, aligned with the company's environmental policy and the objective of Royal Decree 477/2021. Project supported by the incentive program linked to self-consumption and storage, with renewable energy sources, as well as the implementation of renewable thermal systems in the residential sector within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, financed by the European Union – NextGenerationEU.
