OUR QUALITY

Fontestad has implemented the most advanced control systems certified by external organisations to guarantee the quality, freshness and safety of our products throughout the entire process. Our teams are present at every stage of production, from harvesting in the field to final distribution.

This is supported by a supplier control system based on continuous communication with growers, including technical advice provided by Fontestad specialists. For the processing and handling of citrus fruit we also use the latest quality-control technologies, sorting fruit according to colour, size, weight and external condition.

Our Values

We've been doing this for decades. And if we're still here, it's because of how we do it, not how much we produce.
Our own system. A standard without shortcuts.

RECEIVING AND EVALUATION

We analyze each batch or lot:
Brix, acidity, maturity index, juice content.

OPTICAL PRE-CALIBRATION

More than 100 photos per piece. No exaggeration.
Our latest technology, Global Scan, scans each piece as if it were unique.
Diameter, color, density, internal or external defects.

CONTROLLED DEGREENING

In specific chambers, we control temperature, humidity, CO?, and ethylene to ensure the fruit develops its final color uniformly and safely. Without forcing, without losing properties.

PACKING WITH REAL-TIME CONTROL

Fontestad oranges and mandarins pass through UV light booths (detecting invisible decay), manual sorting tables, and calibrators with AI trained by us.

And always, a final pass through manual sorting.

FINAL CONTROL AND TRACEABILITY

In every box, every label, and every detail.
Before leaving, each fruit is checked for weight, appearance, and labeling.
We deliver confidence that withstands the journey.

Criterios de selección

Before deciding which fruit to work with, we analyze its internal and external quality. We conduct tastings, measuring parameters such as freshness, firmness, and organoleptic characteristics. Only fields that consistently meet our standards, season after season, are selected. Each batch is evaluated from origin to harvest.
