Sustainability

Creating a sustainable model and caring for the environment is part of our craft. We have been listening to the land for decades.

At Fontestad, we understand the land as a living system. Therefore, every decision, from irrigation to energy management,
is designed to protect the soil, water, biodiversity, and the future of the crop and the people who depend on it.

Atmospheric Emissions Management

The energy we use is solar. Our cooling is smart. Our carbon footprint is calculated and constantly being reduced.

Energy Management

Our facilities are designed for lower consumption and higher performance. Because efficient production also means being mindful of our methods.

Noise Management

Noise reduction isn't solely for compliance; it's a sign of respect for our employees, visitors, and the wildlife inhabiting our farms.

Biodiversity Management

Biodiversity is not just scenery; it is part of our system. We breed insects. We care for birds, bats, and local flora.
Our fields are not empty. They are full of life. And that is something you can notice.

Soil Management

We work with living ground cover, without tillage and without herbicides. We apply ozone through irrigation to reduce fertilizers and disinfect the soil without residues.
Thus, not only do our citrus fruits grow, but also the life around them,

Waste Management

Fruit that is not suitable for table consumption is processed into juice. The remainder is repurposed for animal feed.
Water is purified. Packaging? It is recycled. Here, waste is not an end; it is another way to begin.

Water Management

On our farms, we work with moisture and salinity probes that allow us to adjust irrigation according to the soil's needs. In the warehouse, we have managed to reduce consumption by 70% thanks to systems such as CONTROL-TEC ECO L2.
